«The best fighter jet in Russian history»: T-50 caused a real furor at the MAKS-2017 Air Show

The fifth generation fighter jet, including the integrated avionics, made its first appearance in the sky in 2010 and later was presented in front of a bigger audience at MAKS-2011. In May 2017 an announcement was made in the Ministry of Industry and Trade about the readiness to start a mass production of these jets. The fact that the army is going to receive the jets by 2019 is now known. On the 18th of July in Zhukovsky, Moscow Oblast an opening ceremony of MAKS-2017 was held. The centerpiece of the program was the «air fight» of two Russian fifth generation fighter jets. One of the jets was attacking, while the other one «dodging». This show impressed not only the Russian people but also the foreign visitors who leave enthusiastic comments below the video.

T-50 (also known as PAK FA) — fifth generation fighter jet, developed under «Development and Design Office of Suhov». In the words of minister of referral bodies Oleg Bocharov, in the present time all the scientific personnel and the production capacity were provided and the release of T-50 will commence after clarification of technical characteristics of the customer. The first fighter jet will be received by the Russian army already in 2019.

The developers of the Russian Fond of promising research submitted a model of T-50 to RIA News, according to which all the fighter jets have to equip with the so-called «nervous system». It allows servicing of the technology according to its current state, as the condition of the jets will be assessed by ground services. This significantly widens the technical possibilities of on-board systems of control and allows to avoid the expensive inspections of the aircraft.

On the 18th of July in Zhukovsky, Moscow Oblast at the opening ceremony of MAKS-2017 the most awaited of all events in the summer program of the first day was the «air fight` of two Russian fifth generation fight planes. The jet piloted by the test-pilot Sergey Chernyshev carried out the attack, while the second aircraft was piloted by a Hero of Russia — Sergey Bogdan, who showed maneuverability and managing to «dodge» from his opponent with great skill. Also the audience was presented with aerial acrobatics, within which the legendary «Pugachev’s Cobra» as well as the flights at limiting angles.

Foreign fans of aviation were also impressed by the entertaining fight of Russian fighter planes and shared their personal opinions on the internet.
